Bay to Breakers

This weekend was a blast. If you've never run (or walked and drunk yourself into a stupor) then you are missing out! Here we are at the beginning of the day...the Oakland guys have huge afros... here's one of me with my boy Tom. Anyway, enjoy the pictures.

Nothing like the "Tower of Power" to prepare the margaritas for the morning's adventure. Had trouble uploading other pics, but here are some highlights...

The End of E-Dating

I think I did what I came to do. I met someone really special that I'd like to continue seeing without (m)any distractions. One of the things I did different this time was that I dated someone I otherwise wouldn't have given a second thought about. I moved beyond the shallow stuff and got beneath the surface. I found someone who fits just about everything I imagined to be my guy. He's warm, kind, passionate and a great cook. He's independent, has a job he loves and is really close to his family. I am going to hang out here for a while...but I have a few trips coming up and am still my outgoing self so check back in for updates!

Player Mode

T-Oakland told me I'm in full player mode, this was after our second date at Yoshi's this weekend. I think he's right. I've been fortunate to have met several guys who have their 'light on'. This is the guy who's tired of the bachelor life and is seeking to settle down. The irony is that the ones I met are both 34, Latino and under 5'9, lol. I think the shorter guys just have a harder time in the dating world.

I-Oakland (I'm loving meeting the Oakland boyz). We met at an art gallery dancing to old skool hip hop http://www.111minnagallery.com. Playing the shy brother, but he bought us tickets to Erika Badu and the Roots http://http://www.paramounttheatre.com/nojsched.html#6_8. I take it he likes music, me too. The party scene is way too small though, I ran into him again last Friday while I was out with the Indian boyz at Vessel http://www.vesselsf.com. I gotta watch it!

Still dating at least two of the others, one is moving into the friend zone. I'm done with the Asian persuasion, the cultural similarities are there but the differences are too great where it counts. I like folks who are outgoing, warm, affectionate and passionate, it never really surfaces with guys with that background. I really missed being with Latinos.

Spooning leads to forking....

Okay, so this tagline refers to a farmer's market, but still, cute right?

Having so much trouble keeping up with the blog, what with the social life and all. Quick update: while I've been gone I met another couple of fine young latinos (FYL's). One is an Iraq war veteran (I know, I'm a Democrat), he served his country in the Marines and is now a bona fide man of the law...kind of predictable but nonetheless attractive. What's even more attractive is that the guy damn near ended up a quad, he's got a great story. M- San Jose. Not sure if there's anything there yet, but he's hot.

The other guy was completely unexpected. T-Oakland. He works in my field and happens to be exactly like me, but I don't want to date myself! We are going on a second date on Sat. The red flags are already there though, he's waaay too into me. Such a turn off, whatever happened to the chase?
